Rick’s nutrition career started at the prestigious University of St Andrews. Following this he completed a Master of Science in Sport and Exercise Nutrition from Loughborough University before starting his clinical training as a Dietitian at Leeds Beckett University.

A lifetime dedicated to nutrition  

After starting martial arts from a young age, Rick always knew the importance of good nutrition had on his performance and recovery in Karate and it gave him the edge with his training at a time.

He carried this “eat well, perform well” mantra through his studies and into his clinical work. Rick is also the Nutrition Manager for the The a2 Milk Company™ a natural cows’ milk free from the inflammatory A1 protein found in regular cows’ milk that can trigger symptoms of milk intolerance.

A Specialist in Functional Dietetics for everyone. 

As a Dietitian, Rick has experience in both the National Health Service and private clinical practice across a range of health conditions with both adults and children.

His approach to dietetic treatment embraces integrative and functional medicine:

As a consultant sports dietitian he can help you reach your very best in exercise and daily activity through good nutrition.

He is able to provide sport nutrition services to a range of elite and amateur sports people for a range of sport disciplines.

 

He is sought after at both the Olympic and amateur level having supported many teams over the years, including the 2012 London Olympic Games.

As a lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics at various higher education institutions and media spokesperson to the British Dietetic Association,  Rick is a passionate speaker trusted by national media as a source of sound nutrition information.

Rick is as comfortable translating the science of nutrition to everyone from doctors and future nutrition professionals, to those with no knowledge of nutrition at all.
